Find the best RV parks and campgrounds in Collin County TX — near Lake Lavon, Lake Ray Hubbard, and throughout the DFW North Texas region.

A guide to RV parks, campgrounds, and camping resources in and around Collin County, Texas.
Collin County is one of the most urbanized counties in North Texas — but that doesn't mean camping and RV options are hard to find. Lake Lavon's USACE-managed parks provide excellent lake-adjacent camping on the county's eastern edge, while a growing number of private RV parks and resorts within driving distance of Frisco, McKinney, and Plano serve the area's active outdoor recreation community. This guide covers the best RV parks in Collin County and the surrounding region.
Lake Lavon USACE Campgrounds
East Fork Park
East Fork Park is one of the most popular USACE campgrounds at Lake Lavon, offering electric and water hookups, tent sites, a boat ramp, and direct lake access. It sits on the western shore of Lake Lavon and is the closest developed campground to central Collin County.
What to expect:
Electric and water hookup sites — no full hookup (sewer) at most USACE sites
Reservations available through recreation.gov — book well in advance for spring and summer weekends
Boat ramp, fishing piers, and swim beach
Restrooms and shower facilities
Nightly fees typically $20–$35 depending on site type
Lavon Park and Avalon Park
Lavon Park and Avalon Park are additional USACE-managed facilities on Lake Lavon providing camping, fishing access, and boat launching. Both parks offer more primitive camping options at lower nightly rates.
Primitive and electric sites available
Good fishing access directly from the campground
Quieter and less crowded than East Fork — better for weekday and off-season visits
Water and restrooms on-site
